コンブチャ。。。日本人だったら昆布茶を思い浮かべてしまうのでは？

コンブチャとは、紅茶キノコのことです！

Konbucha....If you're Japanese, the dry seaweed drink, konbucha will first come to mind.

The English word, Konbucha actually refers to koucha kinoko.

紅茶キノコとは？

ロシアでは伝統的に飲まれている発酵飲料。紅茶に砂糖を加え、ゲル状の菌を入れて発酵させた飲み物。菌が上に浮くのですが、その見たかんじがキノコに似ているので、「紅茶キノコ」と呼ばれるようになったそう。

酵素、プロバイオティクス、乳酸菌、アミノ酸、ポリフェノールが含まれているので、美容や健康にとても良い。体の毒素を体外に排出する働きがあるので、デトックス効果あり。毒素がでれば、肌も綺麗になる、便秘も改善される、アンチエイジング効果も期待大。

注意する点としては、コンブチャは、カフェインと少量だけど、アルコールが含まれていること。発酵の仕方にもよりますが、少なくて0.3％、多いと2.5％（平均的には0.5％）。自宅で作ることも可能ですが、発酵飲料なので、カビが生えたりしないか心配で。。。私は、市販のものを買ってます。ただ市販のものは、完全に発酵させてないものもあるのだとか。

What is koucha kinoko?

It's a fermented drink that's traditionally drunk in Russia. Sugar is added to tea. Then a gel-like bacteria is added and the drink is fermented. The bacteria floats to the top and the bacteria looks like a mushroom - that's why it's called 'koucha kinoko.'

Packed with enzymes, probiotics, lactobacillus, essential amino acids, polyphenol, konbucha is great for your beauty and health. It flushes out the toxins in your body, so there's a detox effect. If toxins leave your body, then your skin will look clearer, your digestive system will be working better, and you can expect anti-aging effects.

But some need to be careful when taking konbucha because it contains a small amount of caffeine and alcohol. Depending on the fermentation process, alcohol level may range from 0.3% - 2.5% (on average, it's 0.5%). You can make konbucha at home, but it's a fermented drink, so don't let it get moldy! That's why I buy it from the store, but choosing the right konbucha is key as some store-bought konbucha isn't fully fermented.

健康志向の高い人が多いからなのか近所のホールフーズの飲み物コーナーに行くとコンブチャがずら～り。色々な味のコンブチャ売ってます。ラベンダー、柑橘系、青野菜、ベリー、しょうが等。最近、トレジョーでも発見！右側は、トレジョー、左側は、ホールフーズで売ってるコンブチャ。味は、酸っぱい（りんご酢のような）炭酸飲料と言ったかんじ。

Maybe it's because there are so many health conscious people in the San Francisco area, but you'll find lots of konbucha on the shelves at Whole Foods. There are so many different flavors of konbuchas - lavender, citrus, green food, berries, ginger, etc. Recently, I found konbucha at Trader Joe's, too! The right bottle is from Trader Joe's, the left is from Whole Foods. Konbucha tastes sour (like apple cider vinegar) and fizzy.
